Review of action items from last meeting
- James and Tom (maybe others, but I didn't hear) bought lumber for the shed from Home Depot and constructed the framing for the two eight foot walls.
- James reported on Linda's research on soil for the raised beds.
- If we buy enough soil to fill the beds in one pos, it will cost $500. minimum.
- Elizabeth suggested we consider other alternatives: leaves, hay, filling beds only half-way.
- We agreed to talk more about soil next time.
Treasurer's Report
- We have about $1100. left after paying for the lumber for the shed.
Harvest Fest
- We will share a booth with WPNA.
- Elizabeth will make a one-sheet description: vision, what we've done, what we need to do - to hand out at Harvest Fest.
- She will be there with her massage chair, charging $1./minute to benefit the gardens.
Treefolks Application
- We all agreed that Mohan can put our names down for the training and care and maintenance. We will try to have the training and planting on Jan 15. Since we have 16 five-gallon trees, we realized that will require a lot of digging. Mohan will check into the possibility of the city using their special equipment to dig our holes. Otherwise, we'll try to get the boy scouts to come to work day on the 8th and dig holes. Jimmy will check with Freddie about how we contact the boy scouts.
Preparing for the Barn Raising
- James will make a timeline which will include finishing up the shed pre-fab, gathering materials, recruiting workers, promoting the event and who knows what else.
