Meeting Minutes 10/20/05

Logo
Tom will check in with his brother in law (?) who is creating our logo.

Vandalism
Everyone in the group agreed that more vandalism incidents are likely, but we had differing opinions about what our response should be. We all agreed a sign and a bulletin board with notices explaining what's going on would be helpful. We all agreed that getting the neighborhood kids involved would be a good idea. The difficult topic was to fence or not to fence. We spent a good deal of time talking about the pros and cons of fencing and the fencing options available. After much discussion, we agreed to drop the topic for the evening, gather more information and revisit it later.

Tree Folks Orchard Application
Mohan is working on that now. He wanted the group's input on how many trees to ask for. We decided to go on the high side (16-20) and put wire cages around them to try and protect them from vandals. (At Jimmy's school, tree saplings were pulled out of the ground by vandals.).

Timeline
This piece was more about setting our next priority which we all agreed is building a shed.

Next Work Day
Sunday, Oct 23, 1:00 p.m. Tom and Linda's back yard, building beds. Tom says everyone should keep an eye out for fencing as we are running low.
