[[social_science_quarterly]] SociJournals

Had a paper conditionally accepted...took about 3 months. Reviewers were more than sociologists (economists can be tougher for regression analysis but this helped the paper) and gave useful comments that ultimately produced a good research-based article
They have a standard format where theories are stated succinctly and the analysis is executed succinctly. Look at past issues to get a sense of what they usually want.

Re: standard format: This is excellent advice!! Thanks!

Editor: Lineberry. First round: Took 2 months. Got an R&R with no suggestions from the editor on how to revise the paper (that is, no guidance on which of the reviewer's criticisms I should really focus on). . Second round: Took a little less than 3 months. Rejection. Sparse decision letter from editor. (20100413)
