It's now called Journal of Marriage and Family, NOT Journal of Marriage and THE family. I got detailed and helpful feedback and a good turnaround time (8 weeks on initial submission). But the editor is beyond nitpicky, and I got 4 R & Rs, the last 2 being for stylistic and format issues. This made the initially quick turnaround time turn into a nearly 2-year process.

I had a similar experience. About 2 months to review. My paper was rejected, but I received very helpful feedback.
My paper is now much better, partly due to the reviewers comments.
