[[start]] mediaCenter

Route:

This wiki is designed to describe the Media Center cryptographic protocols involved in the communication between the media center server and the media center extender, such as an Xbox 360. It is designed to aid developers on non-Microsoft platforms to develop alternative Media Center servers. It was developed using reverse engineering for the purpose of studying the security of the protocol, as well as increasing the interoperability of the Xbox 360 and other media center extenders. No third-party security analysis or fuzzing has been done on these protocols, but you're welcome to try that using this information.

Anyone can edit this wiki as more information comes available. Code has been written that almost completely communicates with the Xbox 360, but there are some issues that are remaining to be understood that prevent full handshaking.

General Steps to protocol:

UPnP Search/Discovery
Key Exchange
(may require RSA negotiation)
