Description: Now in his mid to late thirties, Devante Juan Domingo Castillo de Dulcinia del Hazat de la Valencia is starting to show his age. A bit of dignified grey clings tenaciously to his temples, though his hair is still worn long. His eyes, steel grey with flecks of violet and gold, hold within them a fire, a kind of sparkle that is at once youthful and vibrant as it is focused. His features are refined, angular and proud; many find him to be handsome in the strong-jawed way of his noble family. Dusky skin betrays a hint of Asian tones blended in to the darker European palette of the Hazat.

He is a tall man, standing just underneath six foot seven. Built like a dancer rather than a brawler, he possesses a slender and efficient frame that nonetheless has solidity to it and speaks of superior strength and endurance born from many years of training and practice. The gait and stance with which he walks shows he has spent a lifetime in the saddle; knees slightly bent to the outside, an almost imperceptible bounce to his stride.

Temperament: A devout man of the Pancreator, Devante has seen miracles and seen the power of the dark. He fights with all he has to preserve Vargo, but in the way of men, he thinks his way is -the- way. If Lancelot walked the earth, dealt in politics and had mud on his shoes, he'd be close to who Devante himself is.

Fame: Viscount Castillo has a long and distinguished career in the Hazat, spanning several worlds including Holy Terra, Pandemonium, Isthakr, Stigmata, Hira and Vargo. Lost at sea for nearly 2 years, he was given up for dead when his airship sailed out of a fog bank and returned to the world of the living. He rarely speaks of the time spent away, but instead dedicates himself to rebuilding the Hazat and restoring the glory of the Talon on this world.

Vanya, Master Of The Kossacks.

Alonzo Mercedes: The leader of the Upper River Confederation. Devante isn't exactly impressed with any of the native factions so far.

Mendoza: Brother Battle, cousin to Alvaro. A solid Brother Battle, but Devante knows precious little about this woman.

Theo Karbydos: Things don't look so hot with this leader of Ionel.

Colonel Johann Kosar: There are few people that Devante has loathed more in his life, than this man. With a history of hatred and social warfare that stretched back as far as Pandimonium and 8 years, it came as a surprise to some when Devante and Kosar were seen chatting civilly and working together on recent matters.

Porter Valencia: A more damning man he does not know. Devante has made many efforts to respect the man, but every time Devantes hand or overture is slapped away. Devantes patience with Mr. Valencia's disrespect is coming rapidly to a close, possibly forestalled only by Pura's intercession on her fathers behalf. The problem it would seem, is the men are to much alike.

Pura Saint-Saens Valenica: The Daughter of Porter Valencia, the half romance, half friendship the pair have struck up threatens to disrupt the fabric of Devantes relationship with Porter, either by calming it or bringing it rapidly to a head.

Iskander, Lord Protector of Vargo: A curious relationship between these two. Devante respects the man for his oil like ability to wiggle out of any hard spot with soft words and subtle action. It is a trait he attempts to learn, while also trying to defend himself from Iskanders Machinations. Devante knows Iskander supported Miguel's rebellion and it burns in his soul.

Arie: This Xanthippe is a conundrum. Both an incredibly selfish and short sighted woman, she also possesses the raw tenacity to move mountains by will alone. If only she wasn't a saint-stabbing bitch who bought in to Iskanders lies...

Alane: This vargan has captured the Viscounts attention. She now resides at the Hazat compound as a guest, after the Viscount used his influence to free her from the Inquisition. He created the 'Councilor of Vargan Affairs' for her and trusts her council. OF course, her betrayal in Ionel has colored his opinion somewhat.

Count Sharn, Of Pandimonium. Devante was highly decorated in the counts service and can count on cordial, if not warm reception on Pandimonium, should he return.
