Princess Deirdre

Deirdre is a very independent, self-contained and self-assured woman, who enjoys dancing, the arts, and whose swordplay is a thing out of legend itself like those of her brothers. Yes, she can hold her own in a fight with an elegance and artistry that is breathtaking to behold. She's also perfectly capable of playing downright dirty when required, whether in a swordfight or in the realm of politics. Deirdre does not have a quick-temper like Fiona, but when she does lose it, she tends to hold a grudge. She displays a wide range of moods and is the most stable in this respect of siblings. Deirdre's realm of expertise is the physical, whether it's the physical act of being one of the best with her sword, or mastery of some complex dance for the next ball. She is sultry and seductive though in a darker perhaps more mysterious and more dangerous sense than Flora -with whom she gets along quite well despite what her brothers think. She often finds herself in direct opposition to Fiona because of the realms in which they have chosen to dwell - Deirdre in things physical and Fiona in powers beyond the physical. Deirdre has an innate distrust of Fiona that is very apparent whenever they meet.

She can be very thoughtful and introspective when the need arises and this is often seen by the rest of her family as being rather cagey and perhaps even manipulative to others, somewhat like Caine. She alone of her siblings has maintained the Rebman connection that she has from her mother, Faiella, and she is said to wield some power and influence down there as she does in Amber. She is supportive of both her brothers and is publicly concerned for both of them, but even so, she does not find the need to intervene in their affairs, but more simply keeps herself in favor with both of them. There is one very certain point about Deirdre - she plays her own game and no-one but her own child will know quite what it is.

Deirdre as a Parent

Deirdre's child is more than just offspring or an ally, he or she will be much-loved and treated as she or he grows as a partner-in-crime, so to speak. Any child of Deirdre is going to have to deal with some amount of jealousy from either Eric or Corwin. Deirdre is very decisive about knowing what's good for her child and what's bad, so perhaps a little overbearing at times. She will teach her child a good sense of identity for themselves so that they are never subsumed by the politics of the family in which they are enmeshed. She'll freely give her child insight into Aunts and Uncles motivations and even their dirty little secrets when she knows them. She knows what she wants her child to become and will emphasize the ability to survive at all costs, somewhat like Eric.
