Red Serpent Tavern
Ariadne
The Inn has an air of relaxation which belies its busy throng. An open hearted fire set into the
eastern wall is of great interest to many of those within - for around the
log fire have clustered a dozen stools. Thick wooden tables cover the rest of
the floorspace, while beyond the bar to the south a flight of stairs lead up
into the private rooms. Lanterns hang from the beamed ceiling, though the
light is diffused by the thickness of the smoke which billows out over most
of the groups of townsfolk enjoying each others company around you.

The Silver Hind Tavern
Ariadne
Boisterous and vibrant are the most adequate words which would inadequately summarize the Silver Hind
tavern of Ariadne. The clamour of conversation rules out discerning
individual voices, while the raucous singing and scuffles of the merry
drinkers overwhelms your eyes with scenes to describe. The floorboards are
polished but worn by the heady throng and the lanterns which lay claim to
shedding light on the tavern are easily defeated by the rising smoke and
laxness of the owners in replenishing the spent candles.

Lands Edge Tavern
Astrea's Delta
The rather humorous sign that swings above the door, depicting a man hanging from a cliff, seems to be the
only humorous thing about this small local tavern. Your presence here is
whispered about by the locals that sit at some of the tables around you.
Their eyes catching yours briefly before they look away back into their
tankards of ale, muttered comments not quite loud enough for them to be
audible. The wood panelled walls and relatively low ceiling make this an
uncomfortable place and you can not quite relax here

Tavern of Wisdom
Coriona
This grand hall is unforgiving in its decoration, little comfort afforded to its patrons. Stone
slabs line the floor, the same rippled grey as its unpainted, adorned walls.
Wooden beams of cedar make up the high roof and plain benches which are set
in orderly rows before the bar. A great number of caskets and bottles and a
few giants kegs of ale are there available, a surprising variety considering
the austere interior. Light ushers from round porthole windows and guttering
torches set high in the walls, lending a macabre red-tinged ambience to the
chamber

Fisherman's Tavern.
Eastpoint
You are able to see by the light of the lantern. It is, you decide, not a particularly savory drinking establishment with the other customers seemingly either being rough sea-going types or out and out rogues most of which eye you perhaps with a view to extending their personal wealth at your expense. In one corner a model ship stands on a small shelf accurate in every detail right down to the rigging, its name is the Tatlow. On the bar several empty glasses await refills from the over weight barman who it could be said out classes the customers in his shallowness of character and extremely bad looks. He grins at you like a shark does at its next meal, this does nothing to reassure you that you would be safe here.

The New Tavern
Eleuthera
Rarely has it been your misfortune to witness such a grotesque hovel as this. There is filthy straw
spread across the floor and overflowing spittoons in the corners, what
furniture there is appears to be mostly broken and the fat, ruddy landlord
looks like he has not changed his apron for a year. The place is heaving with
jetty labourers and the reek of stale beer, stale whisky and stale bodies is
enough to make your head spin

The Babbling Brook Tavern
Greeny's Edge
Its decoration and furniture worn by the daily deluge of eager patrons, this tavern has adopted a slightly
faded and subdued appearance. The woollen carpet that was once the pride of
its owner has long since succumbed to the discolouring tide of ale, the once
immaculate walls stained a mild yellow by countless smouldering pipes. But
the decor is clearly but a generation or two old, the unusual bottles arrayed
on the bar reflected by a mirror lining the wall behind. You conclude the
tavern has a healthy custom, and even now curious eyes heavy with drink raise
to observe your speculations

Boatman's Rest Tavern.
Isabella
The cheery interior of the tavern is decorated with a fine fresco that immediately catches your eye. It
depicts a scene of great battle twixt two boat borne adversaries, as you gaze
you wonder where and when such a battle took place. Looking round you see a
great fish has been hung above the bar with a small plaque to the effect that
the fishing prowess of Floridian is not to be scorned. The bar extends the
full length of the room where it reaches a door that leads out into a
picturesque garden beyond. The only other door opens out onto the Quay square
that seems busy by comparison to this relaxed place.

Tavern of the Spiralled Hilt.
Knightswood
Walls almost charred with the stain of foggy tobacco smoke pervade a certain gloominess at first to this
spacious public house. What lends it its popular appeal however is the huge
blazing hearth that is sunk in to the southern wall, from which your cheeks
already glow with a precise warmth. Circled about it, are stools and benches
occupied by gruff bearded folk sitting gnome-like and clutching tankards that
spill over with the frothy head of beer or ale within. They lend you nothing
more than a slow glance as you look about - an uncongenial or even
inhospitable regard for your presence, you think, until you spot their eyes
that betray the tell-tale lethargy of assured drunkenness.

The earthy tones in this Above the arched lintel, in lovingly adorned cabinets are icons of the
deities of Avalon. These welcome signs are offset by the reflective gaze of
the patrons, they ruminate amongst themselves in conspiratory whispers. The
sturdy oak bar is inlaid with strips of heavy dark wood, arranged in
intricate patterns to create a picture of an ox pulling a plough. The air
hangs heavy with the mingled smells of the local brew and tobacco from the
fertile uplands

You enter through the low wooden archway, alighting in a wooden timbered chamber, which serves as a
smaller area, for those who wish to drink in a bit more peace. A few low
wooden benches have been situated around the room, placed in rickety
partitions, for private conversations. The floor of the chamber is scattered
with sawdust which absorbs some of the dampness which otherwise would rot the
unseasoned timbers. Looking about the room, you notice that yet another
chamber leads off from this to the north, a small den which appears to serve
some sort of clandestine purposes.

Grove Tavern Bar
Wildland-Rangers Guild
This large room is the main bar of the grove tavern, a roughly square room with a series of large windows
looking out eastwards on to a clearing within a thick forest. A doorway leads
south into the entrance hall, and another smaller door leads northeast out
into a garden of some form. The wide bar runs along the western wall, with
various drinks arrayed. You can hear snatches of conversation from local
townspeople grumbling about life in general whilst they sit at the wooden
tables sipping their tankards.

Mortons Peak Saloon Bar
Wildland - Near the Waterall
The Public Bar of the Morton's Peak is filled with an almost palpable hubbub of intermingled
conversation from assorted figures hunched over the dark, ale-stained oaken
tables. The proprietor leans across the polished bar, engrossed in a
discussion with one of the more serious drinkers. Above him are rows of
shining glasses, and behind them a rack of spirits bottles. There is a brass
bell for Last Orders and over a doorway to the north a large clock-face
measures out the seconds with a methodical ticking. On the door itself are
inscribed the words "Saloon Bar", and an open stairway in the far corner
leads upwards past a sign saying "Rooms". A crackling log fire in the hearth
fills the whole room with a stuffy warmth and the faint tang of woodsmoke,
just perceptible over the underlying aroma of beer.

The Seaman Bar
Mercinae
This lively bar is the centre of the life at the Mariner's Guild. Run by Brandybur, it is always cheerful
and friendly and you feel that you could do a lot worse than sit here and
drown your sorrows amongst friends. The furniture is cheap and damaged by
many a brawl, yet far from spoiling the pleasure of visiting this adds a
sense of charm and just a hint of danger to drinking here.

Slumbering Serpant Tavern
Mercinae
This is a large wooden inn. It is decorates with carvings of various types of snakes along the eaves of
the roof. The inn was whitewashed at one time, but most of the paint has
resting comfortably by a large fireplace. A corral and stable, apparently
empty, are off to the side.

The Moon Inn
Mercinae
You stand at the centre of a crowded room, surrounded by at once general chatter, raucous laughter and the
general hubbub of a noisy ale house. This large room contains around ten
tables, each set with a dimly burning candle. The only lighting is thrown out
from the table candles giving the room a dingy effect, you can hardly make
out anything through the columns of smoke which rise around the tables. An
archway in the southern wall leads out of the Inn, while there are three
thick wooden doors (east, northeast and northwest) leading into smaller
rooms.

The Golden Grape Tavern
Morgana's Rise
The Golden Grape tavern derives its name from the grapes grown in the vineyards to the north of the village, and from
which the people of Morgana's Rise make the excellent wine which the village
is noted for. The tavern is a cosy place with wooden seats and tables, and
tall wooden stools running the length of the bar. Above the bar itself hang
numerous glasses and tankards, and behind it are various bottles of wines and
spirits, with two pump handles which are used to draw up the ale from the
cellar. The smell of alcohol lies very strongly in the air, which would
indicate that the tavern is very popular with its customers.

The Entmoot Tavern
Oakwood's End
Simple in its decorative style, this large room has all the trappings of a tavern serving a small
village. Pine wood walls and thick-set furniture embellished with thick
cotton-covered cushions add a homely feel, whilst paintings and other
ornaments hung about the walls infuse the tavern with a historical note. Most
of the paintings depict the woodlands of Oakwood set against the gleaming
spires of the northern mountains, but some chart the development of the town
itself - you notice one sketch of this very tavern in construction. The floor
is laid with smooth paving stones, cold underfoot but you are warmed by a
blazing hearth set into a sturdy chimney breast on one wall. The bar, a wide
affair of sturdy hardwood, stands along one wall, behind which is spread a
fine selection of barrel, basket and bottle for the sampling.

The Pennyworth Tavern
North Ogg
Despite its drab and unspectacular exterior, the Pennyworth tavern is vibrant little inn. Lanterns
shed ample light on a scene of typical village warmth. The tavern is a single
room, its bar in the northern hall guarding its cargoes of beer kegs, mead
barrels and imported liqueurs. Elsewhere low wooden tables and meticulously
carved stools offer seating for the weary traveller, and an open heart in the
eastern wall has been set with a bearskin rug and a semi-circle of
comfortable chairs. The air is thick with the warming tang of pipe smoke, and
the tables laden with the bounty of the village; thick sides of beef, mugs of
fine mead, roasted fish, and goblets of spiced wine

Halfway Tavern
Along the Highway
Perhaps more comfortable than the inn's exterior might suggest, this tavern is decked out with a splendid
arrangement of furniture all carved from highly prized timber. Each chair to
each table has incredible carved artwork not only on the chairs' backs and
seats but on the legs too and with equal precision and care. All the tables
are polished clean as if they had never felt the rough scrape of a metal
tankard on their surface, but then you have already noticed that some of the
tankards are carved from wood too. Above the bar is a price list for the
various ales and spirits; beside the bar is a small wooden stairway that
leads up to another floor, a sign next to it informing you that it leads in
fact to the guest room.

Saloon Bar of the Giants Feast Tavern
Snowfoot
Surrounding you are the vestiges of a homely village tavern, enclosing you within its warm scent of
ale. Dry stone walls have been clad with hardwoods and carpets to seal
against the cold air of the foothills, dimly visible outside through frosted
glass windows. Strong timbers support a thatched ceiling, where you glimpse a
healthy stock of winter supplies hidden within the shadowed beams overhead.
The sturdy bar runs around the edge, behind which are arrayed a selection of
hearty brews to whet the palette of visitors to Snowfoot village

Public Bar of the Green Leaf Inn.
Springdale
The bar is packed full of boisterous town and city folk greedily demanding ale from a harassed barmaid.
You make out burly sailors eagerly puffing away on their overflowing pipes,
woodsmen still carrying their axes in bulging tool belts and money lenders
eager to discuss business with new customers. The air is thick with sweet
smelling smoke, stale beer and the intrigue of the days events. As you weave
through the throng and attempt to attract the barmaids attention, you notice
a trap door recessed into the floor behind a stained oak bar. The barmaid
finally manages to untangle herself from a particularly amorous customer and
breathlessly comes across to serve you. As she approaches she smiles sadly at
you and asks, 'what can I get ya love?'.

The Silver Oyster Tavern
Springdale
It is within the disreputable shadows of the further reaches of this bar that many a suspect tale been
told, or dishonourable pact made only to be later broken. Indeed many of the
older patrons appear to have suffered many unfortunate turns of fate, for now
they flagrantly indulge themselves in the brewers arts. More animate than
these tragic cases are the younger fishermen and traders who discuss their
business and pleasure raucously over a ceaseless stream of emptied flagons.
Although curious eyes are raised to strangers you are quickly absorbed into
the throng of the crowd, wherein you glimpse many features more unusual than
your own.

Saloon bar of the Golden Wheatsheaf Inn.
Springdale
Decorated in a fine yet somewhat gaudy style, this public house has served as a meeting place for
citizens and visitors to Springdale for many centuries. Herein meet passing
travellers and hardened traders to discuss their journeys and the price of
fish over a hearty flagon of the local ale. This viscous brew is hand-pumped
by the strong-armed barmaids, each pint drawn with a thick frothy head
crowning the deep brown liquid. Wooden benches afford seating upon neatly
embroidered cushions about the low tables, some of which take in the vista of
the travellers entering and leaving the city, whilst others prefer the
shadows of the tavern's further reaches.
