LFRWiki Rules
Purpose
The LFRWiki is intended to be an area where players can quickly garner relevant, accurate and up-to-date information regarding Living Forgotten Realms as well as a place for Forgotten Realms authors to come and find information and inspiration.
Some pages at LFRWiki may have anonymous editing disabled (including this one). This is by design.
What may be posted here
- Relevent information regarding the post-Spellplague Living Forgotten Realms.
- D&D 4th Edition information and speculation.
- Any information released under the Open Gaming License or similar, although rules mechanics are not intended to be the focus of LFRWiki.
- Sourced reproductions, in whole or in part, of published information regarding the Realms post-Spellplague as long as such information is freely available. Freely available is defined as material which the copyright owner, in good faith, intend for players to freely read, digest and reproduce. Note that D&D Insider articles do NOT meet this "freely available" standard because they require registration to view. Should WotC or a campaign representative wish to post a D&D Insider article on LFRWiki, they must do so with the express written, sourced, consent of the WotC legal team.
- Sourced summaries of non-Open Gaming License material, or any quantity of the same which is sufficiently small so as to fall under Fair Use laws, in so far as those summaries do not constitute a violation of intellectual property.
What may NOT be posted here
- Verbatim or near verbatim reproductions of works under copyright.
- Material which is wholly irrelevant to the campaign (eg Disney's The Lion King, The Battle of Iwo Jima).
- Player vanity pages. (Note: Living Forgotten Reams *characters* may have vanity pages, but must not directly associate themselves with canon events unless those events were unique in nature- such as a special mission or interactive result.)
- Advertisements in any form, including for D&D products, campaigns and materials.
- Information about other campaigns, including other Living campaigns. (Exception: One page will be dedicated to 'Other Living Campaigns'. Here a brief summary of various other campaigns, including how they differ from Living Forgotten Realms and why a player who does not enjoy Living Forgotten Realms may be encouraged to give the others a try.)
- Vandalism/blanking of existing pages.
- Personal attacks on other players, campaign staff or anyone else really.
Do...
- Follow templates and the style of LFRWiki. In these early days the styles may change and change rapidly, but once we have settled into a standard and settled on an acceptable set of standards then they should be followed.
- Observe spoiler tags for at least one month after a module has been played and six months after a published Forgotten Realms source is released, unless that game's results were unique (such as an interactive or special mission).
Do not...
- Insert player characters into canon, except where such actions were notable and unique in nature. Bottom line: if someone else had the chance to play the same module, then it's not unique.
- Create wiki pages for other player's characters. Those characters are their own and to do this is to violate their copyright (which is automatic).
- Significantly and retroactively change player character background/information once posted. This confuses players. If you think you might be tempted to change anything about your character, then do not post that information to the wiki.
