Memorable quotes: "You are a drow woman, that automatically means you are a bitch" Memorable deeds: Misc notes: Menzoberranzen is the city of Drow in the Underdark. A place where one wrong move will not only get yourself killed, but it will get your whole family killed. Keldrick was a resident of the great city. He was a scout and sniper specialist from House Baenre. He was the best of the best. He was known for shooting a fly out of the air and avoiding the frog trying to leap at it. He was one of the highest ranking males in the whole house. That is until one day, he was sent on a mission to kill the late King Azoun IV. This was of course, no small task as he was rumored to have the most highly trained personal bodyguards. Regardless, an order was an order, and he was sent alone. As he was lying in the bushes waiting for the king's carriage to pass by his ambush spot, he realized something was wrong. The person in the carriage wasn't the king. It was one of his many dukes, but with twice as many guards as were normally put to work for a duke. Keldrick knew he'd been betrayed, but as soon as he got up to leave, he was cut off by 5 heavily armed guards. The leader said something about the anonymous tip being right. Keldrick threw his bow down on the ground and put his hands into the air. They turned him around and put manacles on him. He asked why they didn't just kill him. He was a Drow, to be killed on sight if caught on the surface. They told him, even an Underdark dwelling Drow has to face justice. Killing him would be the easy way out for the dark elf. So he was put on trial by King Azoun IV. The public wanted the Drow hanged in front of them. But it was not to be, for the King was a wise one. He admitted that if not for the anonymous tip that told his guards exactly where Keldrick was going to be hiding, there would be one less Duke. Some speculated the king admired Keldrick's skill, which is why he did not put the young elf to death. He was sentenced to 20 years in the prison city of Wheloon, with his equipment to help his survival rate. Unfortunately, 40 years passed by as King Azoun IV died and no one to care about the life of one Drow. He was lucky enough to survive without joining a gang, mainly by finding a spot that was neutral territory and hiding out there. Even for a long-lived race such as the Drow, 40 years is a fairly long time. Time to think about his life, about why someone sold him out, about the meaning of his life. For the first decade, hate and anger festered for those who betrayed him and for himself, for failing at a mission. After the 3rd decade however, he realized he wasn't accomplishing anything by just skulking. So after the 40th year there, there was disturbance. Apparently there was a large fight against one of the biggest gangs, Mother 3. A gang of shadar-kai that notoriously followed Shar was being taken out by an alliance of multiple gangs, led by 4 or 5 new inmates. He knew it was rookie adventurers, no one else was crazy enough to take on the biggest gang in Wheloon. So using his skills, he was able to make his escape along with them, unnoticed by those adventurers. So he decided to start his life anew, vowing to forget his life under the thumb of Lolth. As it stands, he has devoted his life to be something more than just a ruthless killer. |
