Johan Stanislav Kosar
Born: 5/7/5975
Rank: Knight and Colonel of the Decados Army
Position: Supreme Commander of Torranova
Acting as: Military Governor of Zevernaya and Lord Constable of Vargo
Height: 6'
Weight: 160 pounds
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue
Mode of dress: Impeccably maintained uniforms, usually of black or green. He has been known to sport black Powered Ceramsteel armor with the helmet fashioned into the likeness of a jackal when expecting personal combat.
History:
Kosar is the son of a minor knight, a military man in his own right, serving honorably (for a Decados) in the Emperor Wars. Johan Kosar was raised during the midst of the fighting, and entered into the fray during the last few years of fighting. The desperate gamble of the final years of the Emperor Wars taught the young officer many a lesson that he bears with him still. With a daring and bloody manner, Kosar ably commanded Air Cavalry units on Malignatius against the Li Halan, as well as most everywhere else. When objectives needed to be taken, he took them, spending ammunition, gasoline, and lives with the same calculating manner. Since the end of the wars however, objectives were far more nebulous.
After the forced peace, the bended knee, Kosar was one of the few that had found a home in military service, and continued to serve in the employ of the Count of Carpathia, Enis Sharn. He served for several years on Pandemonium with distinction, marred only by some personal disputes with members of other houses. Kosar has, however, had a history of some cooperation with some other houses' militaries, having engaged in an officer's exchange program with the al-Malik, and having a deep though grudging respect for the Li Halan, having faced them in battle countless times upon Malignatius.
Personality:
Kosar has reputedly been promoted and demoted several times, and seems to acknowledge this fact with a certain amount of pride. The fact that he's seen the rank of captain at three different times is balanced by his jump right past Major to Colonel.Kosar is often smiling, arrogant, and with a cutting wit. He is extremely loyal to his house, and certain others that he considers friends. Often considered cold and calculating, he often shows a biting sense of humor, one that his enemies will often see more of than his allies.
Faithfully serving Kosar is his retainer, a midget harlequin named Beltrans. Beltrans is a member of the Carnivaleers guild, and often serves to carry out practical jokes with or for his master's amusement. Besides being a handservant, Beltrans has even served as Kosar's second in a duel that the knight obviously wasn't taking seriously.
Relations:
In no particular order...Auda abu Iskander IV: Despite the fact that they see each other rarely, Kosar seems to regard the young Auda as his closest friend on the planet, apparently having some past history with him before coming to Vargo.
Auda abu Iskander III: They seem to have a cordial if business-like relationship, seldom socializing together, though often collaborating.
Haroun Rashidun al-Malik: They have a civil and polite relationship, though in military situations Kosar tends to treat Haroun as a junior on the basis of Haroun's lateness in coming to his Colonelcy.
Arie Scavone Xanthippe: Kosar seems to respect the Triumvirate Field Marshal, dealing with her frequently, and following her in battle.
Sauda bint Shirkuh: She took command of Kosar's militia and armsmen during the defense of Dulahan Spur. He acted strangely towards her.
Isra Setara Zaki al-Malik: Having only met each other once, Kosar mocked her the entire time.
Alane Tadakar: Alane and Kosar seem to have a strange mixture of hatred and fascination with each other. Kosar has taken delight in tormenting the Vargen woman in the past.
Devante Castillo et al: It is rumored that Kosar and Devante consider each other enemies from long-standing disputes, though recently they have been seen acting civil in each other's companies.
Pura Saint-Saens Valencia of the Muster: He beat her dog when she failed to bow to him in public. He gave her a new one later though.
Porter Valencia of the Muster: Porter was apparently upset about the dog-beating, but since then, Porter and Kosar have teamed up to save Sir Pyotr, Lord Euan, and Lady Skye from Antinomists.
Laila Milano of the Muster: She served as Kosar's adjutant during the initial assault on Dulahan Spur. He regards her as competent and agreable.
