Miscellaneous Sessions 1996-????
25th March 2007 - Solar Crash!
Managed to record a track for the first time in ages. Yet another bit of 'back to basics malarky'
Duncan taking up guitar and keyboard responsibilities (which he was initially doing all at the same time) and I programmed the drums and played a bit of bass.
After much crashing and banging of me finding out the right power supplies for things in amongst the pile of nonsene in my bedroom we got to work.
There's a bit of Welcome to Jhenge style Vocal Distortion on the guitar and typical too much reverb on the drums. Duncan had dubbed it Axis Syndrome 2 during
the recording. Initially I was going to modify the drums in realtime but I wanted more structure to the track so I thought I'd get the computer to sort that
sort of thing. Duncan asked as to what I was going to do being as that was the case. Initially I suggested nothing and Duncan cursed "you producer types!"
I then decided to play Bass which probably wasn't the best idea as it's clearly a bit of a mess.
After we finally recorded a half decent version of it Duncan left and I continued work on my own, trying a bit of multi track-ness on it. I was curious to see
if I could come up with anything better on the guitar. I felt there was a bit of a New Order vibe coming through and wanted to try a few things. I've recorded various bits of guitar playing and stuff which I intend to rip bits from later on and put in Renoise.
Might actually make a decent track in the end.

Bit of a mess and hardly commercial quality, but it was still fun.
I've listened to it quite a lot. I'm going to make a tidier version of it eventually. I've just noticed that the formatting is all wrong when you don't have adblock on.
