Guilt. It's a feeling of having done something and knowing that really you shouldn't have done it. To some extent it could be said that I'm feeling a bit of guilt now as I write this. It's also pre-guilt in many ways because I'm about to do something which I probably shouldn't. It happens to be that I'm going to give this a good review. Ulp.
Well good in the sense of the fact that I enjoyed this film. Despite the fact that there really seems no chemistry between the two male leads, the female lead is brainless and used just for her looks, the plot is minimal and it's just in the end really really stupid. Yet I needed to watch something really stupid at this time so that's probably why I enjoyed it. There is little to the film other than a series of stunts and stupid jokes. There's also swearing which wasn't in the original TV series. Yet Burt Reynolds makes a great Boss Hogg despite not actually doing a great deal. There's also quite a few moments of inspired stupidity. Moments which are so very daft you can't help but laugh at them. Then it's balanced by Willie Nelson as Uncle Jessy being extremely dull and no one really being that convincing in their roles in the film.
There's a mountain of things wrong with this film and very little right. Yet somehow none of it seemed to matter as the silliness of it all amused me no end. So anyway, I liked Dukes of Hazzard. It seems I'm a bit of an exception in doing so as most people hate it. Fans of Jackass should enjoy it though.
Go to see it and switch off your brain. If you can. You might have some fun.
