Princess Morganthe
CaptainDrake to QueenMoire about Morganthe:"Your daughter was the one who was young and inexperienced. She was the one who was a joy to be around, uncomplicated as yet by cynicism or acquainted with grief..."
Daughter of QueenMoire and now deceased. CaptainDrake and PrincessMorganthe were introduced by QueenMoire on CaptainDrake's first trip to Rebma, which he took at the behest of PrinceRandom in order to "find a better view." At the time, CaptainDrake was doing his military service in the AmberRoyalNavy under the tutelage of his father, PrinceCaine. CaptainDrake and PrincessMorganthe hit it off instantly and romance swiftly blossomed. Many rumors were circulated about even a possible engagement. So the crowd was aghast when CaptainDrake simply walked away without explanation. PrincessMorganthe is said to have found solace for a short while with PrinceRandom. The details surrounding the scandal are still unknown. But it is known that shortly after the announcement was made that PrincessMorganthe was "with child," PrinceCaine was rumored to have visited. Quite what passed between QueenMoire and PrinceCaine is not known, but the Prince is said to have walked away fuming quietly and shortly thereafter was first heard to make the remark about wanting PrinceRandom's head on a platter.
The Princess gave birth to a baby boy some months after these events had transpired, though she never recovered from either the broken heart or the scandal that rocked the Rebman Court. She named the boy, CousinMartin but never saw her child grow up.
Shortly after his birth, she committed suicide.
Though for many years, it was rumored that PrinceRandom was solely responsible for ruining the Princess and causing her untimely death, it is now known after a public scene in the Rebman Throneroom that CaptainDrake had more to do with her broken-heart than many had previously guessed.
It remains to be seen what other secrets come into the open on heels of this revelation.
