Obi's Suite
LordObi's rooms in the castle are in the family wing, not far from his mother's. Often when he's in residence, Obi's staff can be found behind the door, its eyes watching the portal. The sitting room is furnished with a writing desk normally cluttered with correspondence to Family and friends throughout Amber and Shadow. There are two good size couches in earthy tones and a wingback chair near the small fireplace. The two bookcases and the walls are filled with an eclectic mix of momentos that Obi's collected from numerous Shadows. A painting from Gorhaut is illuminated by a oil lantern from Wiermonken and is flanked by a quilt from Savannah. Several books printed in Langwith are propped up by a motorcycle helmet from VestaColony which strikes a dichotomy with the crested guards' helmet from Salamis that sits on the Deigan coffeetable. The table also serves as Obi's workspace when he's inclined to work on his flutes or masks.
His bedchamber is warm and dark, like his smile. All the tapestries on the walls are from Uzoma as is the bedding. Accenting the hangings are several masks of wood and feathers, here Osebo, there Mmoboro, and even Achi-cheri of his favored UzomanTales. The dresser and wardrobe are just as cluttered as the sitting room, but here it's not the items collected on his travels, but the items that will ensure him safety and comfort in those travels. A flint firelighter, a steel mirror and a half empty haversack set upon the nightstand along with a book of Corwin's poetry. Most of the clothes in his wardrobe relect his mother and uncle's influences, silver, white and red primary set off by the practicality of black. All his shoes are varying shades of red, whether cloth or leather, from the deepest crimson to a few that could almost be called rose.

Once the library's cleared, Obi will return to his rooms and throw together his traveling belongings. A haversack that keeps his travel rutter, some dried fruit and meat, and a canteen. There's a knife, more for utility than protection, and a small collection of camping goods along with his bedroll. A pair of more comfortable walking sandals make their way into the bag, too. The bag finds a home next to the door of his suite, along with his staff. Next are his footware in his trademark red, suitable for the next day's travel plans. He lays out a loose pair of pants in black with numerous pockets and white tanktop. A light shirt of red silk finishes the outfit. A last minute impulse prompts him to set his sunglasses atop the pile with a little shrug.
Satisfied that anything else can be found along the way, he makes his way toward his mother's rooms. A sharp rap-rap on the outer door and he admits himself to her sitting room. "Mother?" he calls as he enters.

Obi returns to his room and found the letter in his mother's hand on the desk, still sealed.
Obi~
We are going down to give our condolences to
the widow of the Dante's old fencing master in
the morning. You should accompany us if you can.
It sounds as though your cousin is quite upset.
It is unsigned, but it needed none. Obi frowns at the quickness of the summons, but wastes no time in proccuring the items he needed to pay homage to the warrior that had battled Dina's temper for years as much as her blade. Such a man deserves something more. The sun is rising by the time he was done, so a simple bath suffices and he pulls on his clothes. He chooses simple black trousers with a thin white piping and a collarless red shirt so dark that it might have been black as well. His vest is double breasted and piped to match the trousers.
