Owned by the Sorceress Hu San, who while in Treegum resides in the Living accomodation above the store. The shop originally belonged to an associate of Hu San's, a rather shady individual called Slick. In a fallout with the Treegum Authorities Slick was forbidden from trading within Treegum . In a move designed primarily to annoy the 'Fat Burghers and assorted Scum that constitute the Civil Council of Treegum', Hu San purchased the store for 1gp, and employed Slick as Manager with full authority. This created something of a stir at the time as it neatly sidestepped the various ordnances which had been set in place. The only arguement that could be mustered was that 1gp was not a reasonable amount, and so this was later raised to the (still very cheap) sum of 5000gp. It is unknown and unprovable as to whether any money actually changed hands...
When Slick moved away from Treegum Hu San took full managerial control of her investment. The store sells a number of potions and components, including poisons, the brewing of which Hu San is widely acknowledged to be an expert. The proprieter is often known to travel away from Treegum, and is adept at aquiring a number of rare spell reagents, especially Mummy parts; where she obtains them is unknown. What is known that the Cauldron can also supply a number of rare and luxury commodities to order given sufficient notice, including the Green Tea with which guests are provided. It is thought that the Cauldren quietly supplies a number of such commodites to merchant houses and rich clients,
