If you are attacked by a force and you apply force yourself, a collision of energies ensues which results in disharmony, and accordingly the strongest force wins. If, however, you meet that force with an absorbing movement and then exhaust it to the point of imbalance before applying a force of your own, you can cause your target to be off balance and deliver a strike of your own.

This is the way of the Silver Circle, called so because the monk moves in circular patterns to redirect the force. Physical strength is not a requirement and as such it can be followed by people of all ages. In fact some of the greatest monks of the Silver Circle are the elderly, who have the patience and the wisdom to follow such a discipline.

The symbol of the order, the circle, is also a representation of a barrier. The monks spend a portion of their time subjecting themselves to poisons, mind effecting substances and traps. Starting with small amounts, they continually increase their exposure which causes the monks resistances and reflexes to improve.
