fountain692
a broken stone fountain
The fountain is an ancient relic around these parts, once a proud greeting to passers-by from the bustling fishing town of Astrea's Delta, now a pale shadow of its former self. The stone work is riddled with holes, in need of some diligent repair with the correct implements.

fountain692
a small stone fountain
The fountain is an ancient relic from the town of Astrea's Delta and, despite years of disrepair, has been fixed by some kind stonemason with a concoction of mud and small rocks. The water supply is limited and only a gentle trickle oozes from the spout.

spade693
a thin metal spackle
The spackle is used for stonemasonry work, for filling up holes. It is metallic and somewhat rusted about the edges.
Open Cast Mine
mud694
a dollop of wet mud
There is something extra-ordinary about the consistency of good, wet mud. It smells fresh from the fields, and maintains its form well.
Clearing by stream
rock695
some little rocks
The rocks are cut from the same quarry, you surmise, for they share the same texture and colouring. They are small enough to be of use to a stonemason, you cannot help but conclude.

You use your spackle to collect the mud.
get mud
You carefully spread out the rock-filled mud on the holes in the fountain. You make quick work of the job with your splendid spackle and before long, the fountains holes are filled. You step back to wait for it to dry.
repair fountain
A gust of wind blows in, turning its attention directly to the wet mud on the fountain.

The wind blows stronger against the mud, drying it in no time.

Tentatively, a trickle of water issues from the spout of the fountain. You watch amused as the ancient fountain attempts to regain its former glory.

Suddenly, like the bursting of a dam, water cascades forth from the fountain, covering you in glistening drops. In addition to the water, though, hundreds of pieces of gold have also been showered here, there and everywhere by the sudden blast.

The water, having dislodged its blockage, retreats to a steady trickle.

The fountain is functional, my friend. No need for your handicraft.
