The slab has been placed set deep within the earth of northern wall, although its great stone mass is surely too heavy for any creature to move. Scrambling up to look more closely, you notice many strange markings upon its surface and two circular niches set into its smooth top.

The mantle is a simplistic garment, knit from a rough mixture of wool and cotton and dyed with forest colouring. Painted upon it are symbols of dull red and brown, perhaps totems of the people who made it. It belongs to you. It has over a year of use left.
