-A: yes, AHA interview scheduled last friday (12/21)
-Q: What's the skinny with this job? Did they bring their on-campus folks yet?
-A: Clearly don't know what they want. Advertised public history, but really wanted American Studies person who could also "do" public history. Like most history departments, they advertise for public history but have no clue what that involves and how to support it.
-Q: Did they make the hire? What's the outcome?

UMass-Amherst http://www.h-net.org/jobs/display_job.php?jobID=35057
- extended initial deadline for job applications
- what do people think of the new media requirements for this job? although I think a grounding in how new media affects public history is essential in this day and age, it seems like they are asking a lot for the candidate to have actually done her or his own new media projects...
- How did you find out that they extended the deadline? I didn't get notice nor see anything on their website.
- it was posted on h-net - the new deadline is Dec. 7 - http://www.h-net.org/jobs/display_job.php?jobID=35483

Dear fellow Public History job seekers, does anyone know who took the job at Rochester Institute of Technology last year? I'm curious! Thanks!
  Eric Nystrom (Johns Hopkins)
Are any of you all applying to museum or other non-teaching public history jobs. as well? I certainly am. Should we post info for some of those searches?

Yes, I am. I agree, we should post those jobs as they become available.
Great. I just posted one.
